A one day course which provides an overview of how epidemiological and economic tools can be used to inform policy-making from a national and global perspective, how to rank interventions by health gain and/or costs and cost-effectiveness and gain an understanding of key methodological and policy considerations. There are no formal prerequisites. It will include the following modules: Overview of key epidemiological methods; Health economics and economic evaluation methods; Case study of bringing epidemiology and health economics together; Determining health gains, costs and cost effectiveness of preventive interventions; League Tables; Key methodological and policy considerations.
