The U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the Rutledge v. The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) case on April 27, 2020. The case centers on a 2015 Arkansas law that restricts how pharmacy benefit managers may contract with pharmacies under health plans governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). ERISA’s preemptive scope serves to promote uniformity, enable benefit plans, and maximize value for plan beneficiaries without having to negotiate disparate local requirements.

During this webinar, AMCP President Jim T. Kenney, RPh, MBA; AMCP CEO Susan A. Cantrell, RPh, CAE; and Sidley Austin LLP’s leading Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation Partner Tacy F. Flint, JD, will examine the impact of the case on managed care pharmacy.
