Integrated health information technology provides the opportunity to generate patient reported outcomes (PROs) data and to assess patient outcomes more holistically. As PROs gain widespread prominence and acceptance in the Asia Pacific among the stakeholders, these data are becoming key to more accurately evaluating health care service delivery and quality improvements in clinical and research settings, as well as clarifying and demonstrating value to strengthen clinical and health policy decision-making. In this session, expert speakers from the Asia Pacific region will discuss the importance, strengths and limitations of PROs, and use case studies to illustrate how to develop valid PRO measures and how PROs support research and decision-making. Opportunity and key challenges involved with developing, analyzing, and using PRO data in their countries will also be addressed.
