Limited budget and healthcare system inefficiencies currently limit the adoption of innovative health technologies in Latin America (LATAM). Therefore, rational budget allocation and selection criteria for their incorporation and use are crucial. In this scenario, real-world evidence (RWE) plays an important role, especially for effectiveness evaluation, safety, and economic analysis. Nevertheless, RWE studies in LATAM are still scarce, with important barriers in usage, interpretation, methodology and data availability. In this webinar, a holistic multi-stakeholder discussion about the stage of RWE and how its use could improve the performance of healthcare systems in LATAM, including priority setting, health technology assessment (HTA), effectiveness and safety measurement, and innovative access models.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the regional trends in the use of RWE.
  • Understand the current stage, challenges, and opportunities for the use of RWE in the regional decision-making process.
  • Describe the technical challenges for RWE from both global and regional perspectives.
