The coronavirus outbreak has exacerbated the complicated lives of many patients. The need to step up the emergency response to the global pandemic has put at risk advancements in patient-focused medicines development and, by necessity, deprioritized various patient engagement efforts.

How has the pandemic affected the lives of patients and their access to care, both short and long term? What unmet needs of patient communities have been highlighted by the challenges of living through the pandemic? And how will these and longstanding needs be factored into research priorities given the shift to focus on COVID-19 therapies and vaccines?

Panelists will discuss these and other topics as well as measures to ensure that we continue to advance the efforts for patients in need, even as we address life-saving treatments during the pandemic.
