Will outcomes-based contracting be the game changer some experts appear to believe, or will it pass with time?
An article published May 9 on PMLiVE by Aaron Bean and Alice Blezat says there are “significant benefits” for life sciences companies, including the evolution of customer relationships and new revenue potential.
While outcomes-based contracting (OBC) has faced historic barriers, however, some are discovering ways to bring them down and “leverage the significant opportunity that exists,” according to the article.
“For those who think OBC will play a significant role in how life science companies are reimbursed in the future, there has never been a better time to pursue OBC,” the authors write. “The time is now for life science companies to truly change the game for the industry and to prepare to be judged on the outcomes they deliver.”
