Peter Bach, a physician, epidemiologist, researcher and U.S. health care policy expert on drug cost and value, discussed rising drug prices in a 2017 TED Talk.
During his talk, Bach discussed pharmaceutical pricing, and how rising costs and innovation are stymieing access to much-needed drugs.
“When rising prices drive innovation, they lead to innovation so high-priced that some people can’t afford it,” Bach said. “The U.S., compared to other western countries, actually ranks last in access to new cancer drugs.”
