A new white paper by Dimensional Insight looks at some of the challenges facing the generation of robust and accurate quality measurement to utilize for value-based health care.
“Quality measurement is an integral part of value-based care, yet providers and payers both struggle to define meaningful metrics and leverage quality measurement data to effectively improve care,” the paper states.
Communication between stakeholders, according to the paper, is still an area which must be improved.
“Analytics tools and actionable insights are unevenly distributed, performance is burdensome to measure, and broad consensus around how to define basic terms such as ‘quality’ and ‘value’ often feels as if it is lightyears away,” the paper states.
