Webinar – May 21st – Addressing the Intersection Between LGBTQ+ and Parkinson’s Disease Communities

May 19, 2022

LGBTQ+ identity is a social determinant of health (SODH) associated with limited access to healthcare and worse health outcomes. In an upcoming online symposium hosted in coordination between the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Medical College of Georgia, the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity and Parkinson’s disease will be explored. Speakers include healthcare professionals and community leaders from Augusta, Georgia, home to the largest LGBTQ-centered free clinic in the southeastern US.

According to the Parkinson’s Foundation, “This program is open to people with Parkinson’s, members of the LGBTQ+ community, health care and social services providers, and anyone else interested in learning more about health advocacy and improving healthcare and social services to LGBTQ+ individuals living with Parkinson’s.”
