Verana Health Publishes Real-World Data Ophthalmology Study Replicating Phase III Trials

Verana Health has announced the publication of its research in Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging (OSLI) Retina. The study used de-identified real-world data (RWD) and replicated two phase III trials for the use of Regeneron in wet age-related macular degeneration, making it the first of its kind in the field.

According to Verana, “Verana Health’s study is the first to use RWD to replicate outcomes in an ophthalmology phase III pivotal trial. The manuscript, “Emulating VIEW 1 and VIEW 2 Clinical Trial Outcome Data Using the American Academy of Ophthalmology IRIS Registry,” appeared in the January 15 issue of OSLI Retina and has been updated since the study was presented at the 2021 Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting.”
