Upcoming ICER Webinar Will Discuss Barriers to Fair Access

On December 3rd (12 PM), the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review will host a public webinar detailing the findings of their annual assessment of Barriers to Fair Access in major US payers’ prescription drug coverage policies. Presenters include Sara Edmond, Cat Ahmed, Rebecca Kirch, and Douglas White.
ICER’s Fair Access Assessment was based on findings in their white paper entitled “Cornerstones of ‘Fair’ Drug Coverage: Appropriate Cost-Sharing and Utilization Management Policies for Pharmaceuticals,” which they say “analyzes the ethical and practical dimensions of insurance coverage policy, while presenting a corresponding set of criteria that will support a more transparent discussion among all health care stakeholders about whether specific policies are delivering “fair” patient access to prescription drugs.”
