Upcoming Discussion on the Role of AI in Healthcare, COVID-19, and Equity

May 11, 2021

STAT recently published a report on artificial intelligence (AI), noting potential benefits such as lower healthcare costs and earlier disease diagnosis following its implementation. The report also highlighted downsides associated with AI, including privacy concerns and worsening health disparities. The report’s authors will discuss their findings in a virtual forum. The event will take place on Thursday, May 27th at 1:00 PM ET.

“Join STAT’s Erin Brodwin and Casey Ross for a special virtual event about the findings of their recent special report, produced with support from The Commonwealth Fund. They’ll sit down with researchers working at the intersection of health and AI for a discussion about the limitations of clinical decision-support tools, how to incorporate these tools into practice with an eye for equity, and some of the real-time applications of AI that have emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic.” Register here.
