Listening to the patient perspective is an ongoing trend in research and development. However, these efforts sometimes fail to lead to positive impacts when it comes to patient outcomes. Key challenges include only considering patient perspectives late in the drug development pipeline, focusing on a select number of patients, and failing to listen to what patients really want.
