The Most Expensive Drugs in the U.S. According to GoodRx

GoodRx has released its latest list of the most expensive drugs in America, with orphan drugs and therapies for rare conditions continuing to top the ranking.

Here are 5 most expensive drugs as of July 2020:

1. Myalept, an orphan drug for lipodystrophy is the most expensive drug coming in at $5,093 per vial. Patients typically use 14 vials per year. There is a co-payment coupon offered by Aegerion Pharmaceuticals.
2. Ravicti is a drug for disorders of the urea cycle that lead to high serum ammonia levels. Ravicti goes for $5,031 per bottle although there is a Patient Services program offered by Horizon to make the drug more affordable.
3. Mavenclad is indicated for relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis. A single course costs $56,954 and patients typically require two courses 12 months apart. EMD Serono has a copay available for the commercially insured.
4. Actimmune treats chronic granulomatous disease as well as osteopetrosis. Vials are $4,797 per bottle and most patients require 11 per month. Horizon offers discounts through the Patient Services program.
5. Oxervate, manufactured by Dompe, is the first drug approved to treat neurotrophic keratitis. Each of the 28 vials throughout the four-week course, cost $1,732 per vial.  Support is available for both for the uninsured or underinsured and commercial plan members.
