A survey recently released by Change Healthcare reportedly found 100 percent of the respondents are trimming costs using value-based health care principles, SearchHealthIT reports.
According to the report, the health care technology company surveyed 120 payers to discover more on what does and doesn’t work inside value-based models.
Change Healthcare Director of Value-based Reimbursement Initiatives Andrei Gonzales said the numbers were a complete shock.
“We expected medical cost savings, but to have 100 percent say they achieved savings and with almost 25 percent having cost savings of over 7.5 percent was surprising,” Gonzales tells SearchHealthIT. “We’ve seen savings in our own work, but we wanted a more objective and quantifiable view of the impact of these programs.”
