Study Highlights Use of RWD and Data Analytics to Identify High-Risk Prostate Cancer Patients

August 5, 2021

Researchers at the University of Michigan used real world data (RWD) and data analytics to determine which prostate cancer patients faced a higher risk of aggressive prostate cancer, therefore requiring earlier clinical interventions. The researchers found success in their approach, noting that this method could greatly improve outcomes in prostate cancer.

“[I]dentifying which patients will benefit from immediate and more aggressive treatment is not always clear. To improve patient care, researchers are using predictive analytic methods to determine what type of care an individual should receive, either an active surveillance method or moving forward with surgery or radiation.”Read more here.
