RWE Alliance Launches to Accelerate RWE Use Guidelines and to Inform Policy

Aetion has announced a real world evidence (RWE) coalition. The RWE Alliance is also composed of IQVIA, Tempus, Syapse, and Flatiron Health. Its aim is to accelerate the use of RWE in regulatory approval processes and to guide policy decisions. The use of RWE has drastically increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senior Director of Upstream Marketing at Aetion Christina Purpura remarks, “Aetion believes the FDA has an important role to play in helping investigators follow the core tenets of principled database epidemiology, so we prepare policy papers to support the agency’s work. For example, we address principles for working with RWD, principles for generating RWE, and examples of specific applications of RWE for which FDA input would be useful.” Read more here.
