Researchers Evaluate Oncology Treatment Costs at the National Cancer Institute and Community Hospitals

Researchers evaluated costs associated with cancer treatment in community hospitals and at the National Cancer Insitute (NCI), noting variation in costs despite no changes in care utilization between the two types of locations.

“The study is believed to be the first to report on variations in insurer prices paid and episode spending by hospital type for privately insured patients undergoing common cancer surgery.” Read more here.
