Research Considers Valuation of Indirect Benefits

The National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) and RTI Health Solutions in research published earlier this year found the inclusion of indirect benefits to be low on the radar for payers, but of much higher importance to employer stakeholders.

The study was published in the February issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

“Therapies that improve physical or mental function accrue benefits both directly and indirectly and can only be adequately assessed if measurement standards for indirect benefits and quantifiable measures are established,” the researchers write.
