A recent report published in Value in Health offers a high-level look at the role of machine learning for health care outcomes researchers and decision makers.
The report, “Machine Learning for Health Services Researchers,” spotlights a number of key topics, including estimators, an algorithm which utilizes machine learning to predict outcomes, according to a press release.
“While machine learning methods may be useful to health service researchers, they offer considerable challenges that are worth considering before engaging in a machine learning activity,” the author, Zalando SE’s Patrick Doupe, said. “With this article, we aim to lower the barriers to implementing machine learning methods.”
