Rising drug prices and health insurance deductibles have many Americans scrambling just to afford the medication they need, let alone any additional health care services, according to an LA Times report.
University of Michigan Neurologist Dr. Brian Callaghan tells the Times it’s a “double whammy.”
A study by Callaghan found that patients with multiple sclerosis paid an average of $3,708 each year out of their own pockets, according to the report, and patients with high deductibles paid about $8,000 per year.
