While outcomes-based contracts have been tested and used in the face of much skepticism about their complexity, the environment today is more friendly to the agreements, according to a PMLiVE report.
Three things, according to the report, which are helping facilitate outcomes-based contracts are:
- Significant growth of health care data;
- More powerful computational capabilities; and
- Growing interest among stakeholders in pursuing OBCs.
“It is now time to leverage new digital technologies that make it easier and safer to collect and share data to eliminate long-standing frictions associated with OBCs,” the report states.
