Registries to Bolster Understanding of COVID-19’s Impact on Patients with Heart Disease

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) will begin collecting data through the Chest Pain – MI Registry and CathPCI Registry to facilitate a better understanding of how COVID-19 impacts patients with heart disease, according to a report by The Evidence Base.

“We already collect high-quality clinical data to support hospitals in providing the highest quality care,” National Cardiovascular Data Registry Chief Scientific Advisor Frederick Masoudi said. “Now it is critical to collect additional data that will provide key insights on the quality of care and outcomes of heart disease patients in the COVID-19 era.”
