Pfizer Executive Confident in COVID-19 Vaccine Price Increase, $175 per Dose Possible

Pfizer CFO Frank D’Amelio spoke about the outlook for the company’s COVID-19 vaccine. He’s confident that the current price of $19.50 per dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will increase as the pandemic slows to reach prices of other vaccines—around $150 to $175 per dose. He also notes that while Pfizer expected to provide 1.3 billion doses, it ended up provided 2 billion. Yearly booster shots will also add continuing revenue to Pfizer’s coffers.

He states, “We believe it’s becoming increasingly likely that an annual revaccination is going to take place,” adding, “Factors like efficacy, booster ability, clinical utility will basically become very important.” Read more here.
