Papa Raises $150 Million in Series D Funding, Seeks to Improve Health Equity

The startup Papa has raised $150 million in series D funding. The company aims to address loneliness by connecting seniors with Papa Pals, who provide transportation to healthcare visits as well as assistance in the home. An increasing number of health payers are recognizing the lifelong effects of social determinants of health, making the startup attractive to a variety of healthcare stakeholders.

Founder Andrew Parker remarks, “”The healthcare system, and CMS especially, have recognized that healthcare is not just clinical but both social and clinical,” adding, “Our Papa Pals can understand their needs, whether they are food insecure or a fall risk. This past quarter, we identified 10,000 gaps with our members.” Read more here.
