Open Pharma says open access to clinical studies is key to ensure researchers can stay up-to-date with “the highest quality, peer-reviewed evidence” available, The Telegraph reports.
Most of the biomedical research available today, according to the report, is locked behind paywalls.
“Publishing with open access improves transparency, advances medical science and, we believe, ultimately improves patient care,” Open Pharma’s Chris Winchester tells The Telegraph. “We feel it is time that the industry, which funds half that work, joined that conversation.”
