A US District Judge has dismissed a whistleblower case against Novartis yet again. The case, brought by Steven Camburn, a former Novartis sales rep who alleged that the company was giving physicians kickbacks to encourage them to prescribe Gilenya, a drug for multiple sclerosis. Judge Kimba Wood ruled that Camburn has not provided enough evidence to support his claims

According to Nicole de Feudis, “For example, though Camburn contended that speaker events were largely attended by repeat attendees, he “does not specify the content of these events or who else was in the audience,” Wood wrote. In another instance, Wood points out that Camburn accused Novartis of tracking whether speakers’ prescriptions increased after participation in the events, but only gave one example of a speaker whose prescriptions increased.”
