NHC Stresses Patient Perspective in Value Assessment

As value assessments continue to evolve, it’s important to factor in the patient perspective, the National Health Council’s (NHC) Eleanor Perfetto and Elisabeth Oehrlein write in a recent blog post.

The NHC, they write, is planning to update its Value Model Rubric and Get-Ready Checklist for Patient Organizations publications to “help patient advocacy organizations become more engaged in discussions of value.”

“As researchers develop new approaches for value assessment, we must ensure the patient voice remains at the forefront,” Perfetto and Oehrlein write. “And there’s only one way we can do that: by listening directly to patients.”
