New Venture Capital Firm Launches to Support Health Sciences Digitization

Cutting edge technology like big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning are poised to revolutionize life sciences and healthcare. Dimension, a new venture capital fund, has launched today in to support the digitization of life sciences. The fund is prepared to support new startups with a war chest of $350 million.

According to Kyle LaHucik, “In a blog post announcing the fund, the founders characterize today’s life sciences operations — replete with tech infused at every step along the way — as an “industrialized experiment factory” in which data are generated at scales “inaccessible” 10 years ago and “unimaginable” at the turn of the millennium. The founders, writing in their blog post, ask readers to ponder how computer vision models that classify cats on the internet — an apt analogy as the age of feline memes has yet to dissipate — can also help life sciences companies understand diseases and the intracellular movements that contribute to them.”
