CVS Health’s recent launch of CarePass, a new membership program which offers delivery benefits, discounts and in-store credit, is poised to rival tech giant Amazon’s offerings.
According to a Managed Healthcare Executive report, CarePass will offer members of the program, which costs $5 per month or $48 per year, one- to two-day delivery for some purchases. Amazon recently purchased a drug delivery business, PillPack, for roughly $1 billion.
“AS CVS Health’s acquisition of Aetna comes to a close, there’s more than meets the eye with this membership pilot move,” VUE Software Vice President of Strategy John Sarich said. “A fast-growing segment of healthcare delivery that’s gaining physician adherents, is concierge care.”
