Edith Mitchell, Thomas Jefferson University professor of medicine and 116th president of the National Medical Association, says the All of Us Research program will be the “largest, the richest biomedical data set ever.”
Mitchell made the comments during her recent appearance on the Relentless Health Value podcast.
The program, Mitchell says, aims to accelerate medical research help researchers develop medical breakthroughs, thus giving back participants who are offering up their data.
“Anyone in the United States who is over 18 and who can make decisions for themselves can enter the program,” Mitchell says. “It will reflect the rich diversity of America. We will be able to understand the disease processes that might reflect specific indicators in individual populations.”
