Managed Healthcare Executive recently caught up with Steve Pearson, founder and president of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), about the company’s impact on coverage decisions.
Pearson tells MHE the organization takes eight months to review any given topic, and works with a range of stakeholders to generate valuable insight.
“We work closely with patient organizations to get from them deeper insight on what value looks like to the patient — that’s information payers don’t have the time or ability to get,” Pearson said. “In addition to our work with clinical experts, we work with manufacturers to get access to confidential data that haven’t been put into the public domain.”
