Methodological Considerations in Economic Evaluations of Gene Therapies

Researchers recently performed a study aiming to identify methodological considerations in the research literature addressing economic evaluations (EEs) of gene therapies (GTs). Additionally, to increase understanding and explore impact, they evaluated how these considerations were applied in published GT EEs. Quality of reporting for EE’s was good. However, the presence of many uncertainties limited their informativeness for health technology assessment and decision makers. Therefore, scenario analyses should be included to better assess impact of methodological choices and clinical uncertainties. Access the full study here.
