Mental Care Utilization Poised to be Key Driver of Health Spending Next Year

PwC in a new analysis suggests utilization of mental care services will be a key driver of health spending next year, HealthPayerIntelligence reports.

The analysis also found, however, that increased use of telehealth services could offer some balance to rising prices.

“In 2021, HRI expects telehealth to put the brakes on medical cost trend as it replaces more costly in-person visits and lowers spending on downstream services and diagnostics,” the report states.
