The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research is asking members for their input as it works to develop and implement a new set of core competencies for HEOR professionals.
According to an email from ISPOR, the framework, dubbed the “ISPOR Health Economics and Outcomes Research Competencies Framework,” involved the creation of an “initial competency list” which was first presented to the Faculty Advisor Council.
Following post-council revisions, validation was finalized through additional review by ISPOR staff and members of ISPOR Career Center job listings during a period in 2017.
The resulting list of 41 competencies in 10 separate domains was then used for a survey which sampled input from ISPOR members “who identify themselves as ‘academia'” regarding their HEOR-related programs. Findings of the survey will be presented May 21 at ISPOR’s 2018 conference meeting in Baltimore.
Now, ISPOR is asking members to take a General Member Survey that aims to measure how the competencies align with members’ views on their importance and relevance to HEOR and their job responsibilities.
“The information from both the General Member and Academic surveys will assist ISPOR in further development and validation of the inventory as well as to identify education opportunities for the HEOR discipline,” an email states.
The deadline to complete the General Member Survey is slated for June 1. According to ISPOR, it will take about 20 minutes to complete.
Two random survey respondents have a chance to win $100 gift certificates when they provider their names and emails at the beginning of the survey.
