IQVIA Report Discusses Using RWD to Understand the Burden of Cancer as Yearly Spending Hits $157 Billion

IQVIA’s Dr. Chi-Chang Chen discusses the far-reaching impact of cancer care. Last year, approximately $157 billion was spent on cancer care in the United States. Although novel oncology drugs offer hope, their high price tags pose significant challenges for patients. Dr. Chen discusses using real world data (RWD) to understand the costs associated with treatment and patient outcomes.

Dr. Chen remarks, “When drug developers can demonstrate a thorough and accurate analysis of the economic and clinical burden related to a specific cancer treatment journey, they can make a stronger case to for the value proposition of using new treatments.” Read more here.
