Intermountain Healthcare and SCL Health Announce Merger; Resulting $11 Billion Health System to Span Six States

Intermountain Healthcare and SCL Health plan to merge, leading to a health system spanning six states. The $11 billion system will include 385 clinics and 58,000 healthcare professionals.

Intermountain CEO Dr. Marc Harrison remarks, “We have no geographic overlap and minimal payer overlap—if you can find two systems that are as committed to keeping costs down please show them to us, in the context of good quality,” adding,” In many ways, we represent the model merger.
