Incoming NPC President and CEO Emphasizes Interdisciplinary Collaboration to Improve Healthcare

John O’Brien took on the positions of president and CEO of the National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) on June 1st, 2021. His diverse background as a pharmacist, insurance executive, and federal health official will strengthen his new roles at NPC. He seeks to work with stakeholders from all sectors to improve the healthcare system, noting that patient access requires interdisciplinary collaboration to be successful.

Dr. O’Brien remarks, “In my newest role, moving the health care system in a positive direction means doubling down on NPC’s core areas of focus to ensure access to high-value care. To have successful policy solutions, we need evidence- and science-based research that examines challenging issues facing our health care system today. And we can’t consider that research in a vacuum: NPC will continue to work with all partners, across all sectors.” Read more here.
