Inadvertent Release of Remdesivir Study Reveals Lackluster Results

An accidental release of study results of a clinical trial in China revealed Gilead’s remdesivir failed to prevent patients from dying and deliver speedy health improvements, STAT reports.

The report was inadvertently posted to the World Health Organization website and swiftly removed.

Gilead spokesperson Amy Flood tells STAT that because the study was stopped early due to lack of patients, it can’t “enable statistically meaningful conclusions.”
