ICER Publishes White Paper on Fair Patient Access to Prescription Drugs

The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) published a new white paper entitled: “Cornerstones of ‘Fair’ Drug Coverage: Appropriate Cost-Sharing and Utilization Management Policies for Pharmaceuticals.” The aim of the paper is to evaluate the ethical and practical aspects of insurance coverage policy while presenting complementary criteria that support greater transparency in the discussion among providers on the fairness of specific cost sharing and utilization management policies designed to increase access to prescription drugs.
