The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) on Thursday, Nov. 29, announced the appointment of Athelia “Tia” Tilson, formerly of Ariadne Labs, as its first vice president of development.
According to a press release, Tilson will spearhead fundraising initiatives, “connecting philanthropic donors to ICER’s core mission of helping all patients achieve sustainable access to high-value care.”
The new executive brings 20-plus years of experience in fundraising in higher education, hospitals and global health, according to ICER.
“ICER began in 2006 as an experiment to determine if an independent assessment of the clinical and cost-effectiveness of medical interventions could ultimately improve innovation, access, and affordability within the United States,” ICER President Steven Pearson said in a statement. “Now established as the country’s drug pricing watchdog, ICER is excited for Tia to join our leadership team.”
