Free Webinar: ISMPP U Plain Language Summaries of Publications

The International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) is offering a free talk covering plain language summaries (PLS) of publications in its latest ISMPP U Webinar. The webinar will focus on PLS best practices in medical journals and how they can advance scientific literacy and public understanding of clinical trials. The 90-min talk will take place on February 2nd, 2022. Pre-registration is required.
According to ISMPP U, “Recently the ISMPP PLS Perspectives Working Group, Pfizer, and Open Pharma published individual articles on plain language summaries.This webinar will feature representation from each group, as well as publishers, and patients/ patient advocates, and focus on best practices in developing PLS of medical journal articles. A discussion on measurements of success as defined by accessibility and discoverability, as well as pilot research on whether PLS increase the impact of published research, will be featured. Participants will leave with guidance on how to successfully integrate PLS into publication’s standard operating procedures and best practices for working with publishers to generate PLS.”
