Fitch Ratings Report Warns of Costly COVID-19 Aftermath for Payers, Patients, and Providers

Fitch Ratings released a report warning that the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic will be costly and possibly felt for decades. Consumers will face higher insurance premiums while healthcare utilization is expected to increase, both due to patients suffering from long COVID-19 and patients postponing care.

“These costs will emerge from the necessary addition to mostly outpatient capacity that is expected to come on line as needed to deal with ongoing treatment of chronic conditions related to potentially permanent damage caused by COVID-19.” Read more here.
