Top-three pharmacy benefit manager Express Scripts says it is excluding an extra 64 drugs from its list of preferred drugs, bringing the total to 159.
Radius Health’s shares surged 4.5 percent Monday after the announcement Lilly’s Forteo was getting the axe. The biotech also recently got the OK for its osteoporosis drug Tymlos, a direct rival to Forteo.
The updated formulary dealt a sizable blow to Synergy Pharmaceuticals after Express Scripts opted to leave off its constipation drug Trulance.
After climbing out of a 10 percent drop, Synergy’s shares closed down 4.4 percent Monday.
