A recent consultation by the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) indicates a welcome new direction for public and patient involvement (PPI). Expanding the public and patient role in medical regulation Philippa Brice of the PHG Foundation writes: The MHRA proposed new five-year PPI strategy seeks to implement ‘a more systematic approach to listening to and meaningfully involving patients and the public’.
