Edifecs Teams Up with Empowered Health to Streamline Prior Authorization

Prior authorization is rated as a top annoyance for providers and patients. Yesterday, November 16th, Edifecs, Inc. and Empowered-Home announced they will team up to provide a streamlined, automated approach to prior authorization through the former’s existing healthcare ecosystem consisting of payers and providers. The tool uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to make instant prior authorizations.
According to Edifecs’ CEO Venkat Kavarthapau, “As strong supporters of the ‘Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act,’ we are proud to be partnering with Empowered-Home to automate the prior authorization process for its customers and partners, and ultimately provide seniors with more timely access to care. The prior authorization process is cumbersome and costly for both payers and clinicians. We have worked hard to alleviate that burden by automating it from the provider’s EHR system to the payer’s utilization management workflow.”
