“DRUG$” a new, free documentary produced by Foxhound Productions, shines a spotlight on soaring drug prices in the U.S.
The production features interviews from stakeholders, political leaders and academics, and how they’re pushing forward in the fight against high drug costs.
“In a titanic struggle against corporate greed, see how a diverse group of concerned Americans is fighting back to keep lifesaving medicines affordable for us all,” a description of the documentary states.
According to the film’s website, “misguided legislation” has ultimately led to laws which prioritize drug patents over human lives.
“Drug companies use patents to perpetuate monopolies by making slight changes to existing drugs, a practice known as ‘evergreening,’ which prevents competition and blocks the production of affordable generic drugs, ensuring perpetual price hikes on decades-old medicines,” the website states.
