Coalition of Private Employers Looks to Lobby Congress on Drug Prices

February 4, 2020

A new coalition of private employers, EmployersRx, is looking to lobby Congress in a bid to reduce drug prices, STAT reports.

The group formed in response to the lack of dialogue about how much private employers pay each year for their employees’ prescription drugs.

“Combine the government’s role both as legislator and health care purchaser through programs such as Medicare and Medicaid with the power of employers who purchase health care for over 153 million people, and we have a shot at taking on high drug costs,” the group’s website states.
