Case Study: Analytics Data Saves Healthcare Services Company with Coverage Information

In a recently published case study, MMIT demonstrates how its Analytics platform helped one major healthcare services company navigate the complicated coverage landscape. Coverage information traditionally requires practices to contact payers on a patient by patient basis, wasting valuable time and resources. This results in clinicians being hesitant when talking with consultants and sales reps from solutions and supplies providers. The Analytics Platform armed the company’s consultants with coverage information to help practices make confident purchasing decisions.

According to the case study, “A consultant at the company often fields questions from physician offices trying to understand reimbursement rates for high- cost products at a granular level. ‘We do quarterly financial analyses for practices, just trying to make sure they’re finding the most cost- effective drug when everything is clinically deemed appropriate.’ But even if the purchase cost of a product looks financially advantageous on paper, ‘if the payers aren’t covering or there are inefficiencies with going through the prior authorization process, it doesn’t make sense for them to use it.’”
