Building a 3D Cancer Atlas with AI

June 7, 2023

Several cancer research organizations and Owkin, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) are collaborating to map cancer cell interactions with MOSAIC, a new AI project. The project aims to reach near-single cell resolution using a spatial omics, which includes data mapping spatial localization of RNA in proteins in cells.

According to Phil Taylor, “According to the consortium – which brings together the University of Pittsburgh, Gustave Roussy, Lausanne University Hospital, Uniklinikum Erlangen/Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, and Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin – the research project is 100 times larger than any existing spatial omics dataset. More organisations are expected to join the effort in the months ahead.”
